St. Patty's Parade

The St. Patrick's Day parade was so much fun!!! With Aunt Col joining us, we took the DART all the way downtown so we wouldn't have to worry about parking. The girls LOVED watching the world go by as we headed to the parade.

Look at my beautiful, grownup looking girl!

Cute Family Pics:

We met up with some of Chris' old work buddies and watched the whole thing together. Everyone kept giving the girls beads. How could you refuse these 2 anyway?

Aunt Col had fun too!

After the parade, we had our hiking backpacks and trekked over to Chris' friend's Amber and Nate, and Weinpel helped cart the girls the 12 blocks to their house. Their neighbor had a bounce house, which they couldn't get enough of! We took the DART home, and were so exhausted. I think we walked into our door at 5pm.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Open House

Thursday night was Open House for my school. It made me love this school even more. Out of all 21 kiddos, only one parent didn't show up... and she had bronchitis. So you can't fault her for that. It was really fun getting to meet the parents of these students. So awesome that they care so much! This week was sort of crazy trying to get everything ready (ya know, clean the calssroom, get student work up on the bulletin boards etc). I think the parents especially liked the board I put up featuring all of the student's poems to Baby Ardyn. (L's baby).

It was a really long night! I got to school at 7am and didn't get home until 8:30pm. Once home, I had to wait up for Aunt Colleen to get here- and then I went straight to bed! Spring Break is here and this week is going to be packed with different outings, play groups, play dates and time with Aunt Col and daddy. So glad I have this week off!

Lenten Promises

This is the first year that Chris and I have talked to the girls about Lent. We talked to G about how Jesus died for us so that we could live and that we need to give something up and try to do something better so that we can show Jesus we love him. We decided to give up ice cream and she is going to try her best not to whine in the morning when its time to get dressed. (trying to get a 3 year old dressed in the morning=my least favorite job of parenting ever!)
So this morning she broke out the "I don't want to wear this" and generally moping about it, I asked her to remember what she is doing for Lent to show Jesus she loves him. She pretty much just put on her clothes after that! Hope we can keep this up.
And I am going to try to give up (chew-able) carbs for Lent. Wish me luck on that!

Incredible Weekend

This past week was the first full work week for me, and let me tell you, I was exhausted! Thursday night Nichole and Oskar and Max flew in for a visit. They gave Ms. Eleanor the day off and watched my girls while I was away. I think they all had a blast. Last time Nichole came to visit, she spent hours coloring with Gianna. Nichole managed to do some art projects with the girls and Gianna is pretty much obsessed with her.
But who wouldn't be?

So Friday came and went, and we just sort of hung out at the house that night. My other roommate from college, Veronica was in town with her new baby, so we got together as well. We ended up having a big bbq Sunday night so everyone could hang out. It was an all UD, fun party. I so wish they lived here!
All weekend I tried to get good pictures, but no one would stay still long enough to get a decent one!

Hanging out

This picture cracks me up. Elia was just chilling with the "think tank."

Looks exactly like his dad!

Uncle Matt and Sarah love.
Next weekend, Aunt Col will be here! So excited!

Consignment Sale

I can't wait to blog about my awesome weekend, but its going to be a looooooong post, so I thought I would show you all some of my loot. I went to Divine Consign this weekend (and introduced Nichole to the beauty and wonder of them) and did really well.

All of it laid out! All of these clothes cost me about $100. And most of them are like new!

My splurges:

The yellow and blue shirts were $8 (total) and the cute little brown dress was $5. Everything else was around $3. Oh and I bought Gianna a bike for $8.50. So I am thinking for their bdays, Gianna will get the new bike, and I might spray paint G's old bike and give it to Elia. I have such weird guilt about hand me downs! So clothing-wise, my girls are set through the fall. Now if only I could find cute clothes at such a great price for me...

After School Activities

This new job rocks. I am almost always home by 4pm, which is right around the time the girls wake up from nap. So there is plenty of time to get in a walk to the park, play with play-doh, or even a quick run at the gym before the dinner rush.

Last week we did lots of chalk drawings outside at our front sidewalk.

I love Boom's hair here- a perfect water fountain.

Practicing shapes

And here G drew a hot air balloon. I thought it was pretty good!

The Reveal

Our bedroom is as done as it is going to get right now. There are still a few things on the list, which I wrote about here. I also want to get a chair to put in the corner and either buy or build a headboard. But right now, it is functional, and it looks pretty good. I cleaned it up today and broke out the camera. Lighting isn't the greatest, but you can still "get the picture."

This is the best "before" I could find:

After:

Goodnight!

Uncle Heaven

Last weekend was pretty durn fun, but this weekend, we had double the uncles at our house. Uncle Danny was in town for UD Odyssey weekend and so Sunday Matt, Patrick, and Timmy joined Danny over at our house for a bbq. The girls had a blast watching them play corn hole and beer pong.

Like Chris' beer pong set? TX vs Giants, all collected at actual games!

And Gianna put on a performance in her bedroom, using her bed as a stage. She danced around and sang a little bit and Elia just jumped around. I wish it was on video, because it was so
hilarious. Matt and Sarah brought over their dog Juju and the girls kept calling her Koda.

Gianna is seriously obsessed with Uncle Danny. She wanted to show him everything and he was very patient and played with her all weekend. Sorry my pictures are so pathetic. But I will be posting a pic of our new room soon!

Second Verse, Same as the First

Saturday morning is filled with shopping, which makes for a tired Boom. Just like last weekend!

Of course it doesn't help that she was up at 3am last night laughing and giggling once I brought her into bed with us! I just thought it was hilarious that she did it 2 weeks in a row!

Gianna's Fabulous Art

My blog posts have been pretty Gianna-heavy lately. She brought home these 9 cards on Tuesday, and she was very proud of them. I am very proud too! She told me what all of them mean.

Top left is Swoopy stally dobby(huh?).
Middle left is mommy, middle is daddy, middle right is Gianna jumping into a mud puddle.
Bottom center is Gianna with a green body and purple hair.

Love how creative she is!
