Thats pretty much all we did this weekend- play with Barbies. Uncle Tim gave the girls the whole princess babrbie set- for Christmas. So adding the 9 princesses to our 2 we have a grand total of 11 barbies. That means 11 pairs of tiny shoes and 11 tiny crowns that are constantly coming off and need to be put back on. Its all good fun though. Yeah. Definitely a Barbie weekend. Sorry Chris!

Wine Tasting and Poker
Saturday morning, Chris and I went wine tasting with some family that was in town. Uncle Eric is still close with the people who work at Artessa, so we naturally went there. Employee discount on fabulous wine? Yes please!
Beautiful!

Later that night we played poker as usual during big family get togethers. I won the first hand, which they say is bad luck. But not that night! I ended up playing till the end and winning $70. I think this is my first victory, and it was so sweet, especially beating Tim who tried to weasel himself into a win.

Rowles-Alba Visit
Gianna told me tonight that she misses Phoebe and Gabby. It was so sad. We really had a great weekend!

The engaged couple graduated!
We pretty much loved on that sweet baby all weekend.
Chris put up a tire swing, and it was a huge hit. Phoebe didn't want to get off!
Till we told her it was bath time:
Half of Grandma's kids were in town in one weekend! Don't know when thats going to happen again.
Grandma is coming back next weekend for a conference. Megan and family will be here too so it will be a full house again!

A New Aunt!
So Uncle Tim popped the question Friday night. Ashley had her Senior Art Studio Friday night and once all of her dresses were modeled, he got down on one knee and proposed. Here is a video of it. (quality is not that great)

This dress represents a blow dryer. Same sort of shoe, just a little different design.

The white box they are sitting on was for the models to sit on. They were totally cheesing for the camera at the end of the night on their sugar highs!
Afterwards, Chris' cousin Katie, who is a freshman at UD came over to babysit so that we could all go out and celebrate. Welcome to the family Ashley!
We have all been obsessed with Ashley from the day we met her, and these pictures will help illustrate that point. She is incredibly creative and talented. Here are some other dresses she made:
This was taken seconds after he popped the question. She looks so happy! The dress on the right is supposed to represent a perfume bottle.
This one represents the hair curler. Look at the shoes made out of electrical cords!

This one is probably my favorite, and Ashley spent a TON of time on it. This one represents eye brow pencils. The shoes are so freaking cool. Wish I had a closer up picture.
Now, an art show is probably about the worst place in the world to bring a toddler and a 4 year old to, but it obviously had to be done. UD's art village has lots of balconies to run up and down, and THANK God I had copiuous amounts of m&ms from Teacher Appreciation week. There was some pretty amazing art, including a few rock and pebble formations on the floor that could have very easily been destroyed by a curious Elia. Thats why I didn't get many more pictures, or if I did, they weren't that great. The girls looked beauteous as usual in their dresses.

Uncle Heaven
Last weekend was pretty durn fun, but this weekend, we had double the uncles at our house. Uncle Danny was in town for UD Odyssey weekend and so Sunday Matt, Patrick, and Timmy joined Danny over at our house for a bbq. The girls had a blast watching them play corn hole and beer pong.

Like Chris' beer pong set? TX vs Giants, all collected at actual games!
And Gianna put on a performance in her bedroom, using her bed as a stage. She danced around and sang a little bit and Elia just jumped around. I wish it was on video, because it was so
hilarious. Matt and Sarah brought over their dog Juju and the girls kept calling her Koda.
Gianna is seriously obsessed with Uncle Danny. She wanted to show him everything and he was very patient and played with her all weekend. Sorry my pictures are so pathetic. But I will be posting a pic of our new room soon!

Busted Toe, Baby Shower, and Uncles
This weekend was great!

While I was writing this post Wednesday night, Gianna was playing with some heavy pieces of pottery. She dropped one on her big toe. The skin under her toenail immediately turned purple. Then all the next day she was complaining to my mom that it hurt to walk. Friday it seemed to be getting better. Then, Papa had to work pretty much all day Saturday, so I used that day to run errands. We went to Walmart and Gianna was riding on the outside of the cart. She got off really quickly and before I could stop the cart, I ran over her foot(the one with the busted toe!!). She collapsed into a puddle of tears, screams, and blood. I rushed her to the bathroom where we found that instead of hurting the exact same spot, there was just another part of her toe that is now injured. As soon as I told her she could pick out any kind of box of bandaids that she wanted, she perked WAY up. AND she rode the rest of the trip in the cart, so I got my shopping done quickly. But poor girl. When she runs, you can tell she is favoring the outside of her foot. I hope it heals quickly! Elia fell asleep on the way home from Walmart and I brought her inside and set her on the ground, where she proceeded to walk over to the ottoman and pass out. I just had to snap a picture.
Sunday was more fun. We did breakfast and church and then headed up to Fairview for a baby shower for Aaron. Elia fell asleep on the way there. Gianna on the way home.
The shower was themed Winnie the Pooh, and better yet, Soph and MM were there so the girls had a blast. Its been almost 3 weeks since we have all seen each other since preschool schedules and now work prevent us from getting together as often as we used to. So it was great to see them.
Elia didn't sleep on the way home. She decided to entertain me instead. Look at those sausage legs. Don't you just want to gnaw on them?
Then Uncles Tim and Patrick came over for a little bbq. I made some pretty awesome twice baked potatoes and the girls got to play a lot with them. All in all, a great weekend!

Dec. 4 Weekend
This past weekend was another busy one! Chris finished the floor in our room- PTL!! Next weekend we should be getting baseboards in and maybe turn our attention to the bathroom? Maybe. Anyways, Saturday started out with my church playgroup's Baby Jesus Birthday party. The girls had a BLAST seeing all their friends, eating cupcakes and juice, singing to baby Jesus, and watching a nativity movie. Our priest came and blessed all the baby Jesus(es?) from our home's nativity. Here was our party from last year.

Here the priest is blessing the baby Jesus(es)
Sunday Uncle Tim and Ashley came over. Tim and Chris raked MORE leaves and put up Christmas lights, and we put up the Christmas tree and other decorations. We trimmed the tree Monday morning before Chris went to work.
Elia keeps bringing me ornaments from the bottom of the tree. So slowly, all of the ornaments are creeping up the tree out of her reach. She is obsessed with the glass balls- she calls them apples. She also loves the baby Jesus from our Cresh. I found baby Jesus in her trash can in her room this morning! So now its hidden until Christmas day.
I'm going to post pics of the new floor soon!

A Day at the Races
Lone Star Park hosted a $1 day, so we decided to take the girls out to see the horses. Everything cost $1- that meant parking, bets, and food! I think the girls cared more about the food at some point than the actual horses, but they still had a blast. We picked up Uncle Tim from the airport right before, so he came along for the fun. Everytime the horses ran around to our side, Elia got VERY excited and would jump around in Chris' arms and talk to the horses.

Busy Busy Weekend
The Rowles had a great weekend, very busy! Saturday was spent raking the back yard with the girls watching.

G in her coat and Elia bundled up in 2 coats and lots of blankets/pillows surrounding her to stay warm.
Doesn't her hat say it all?
We put our tree up and got lights on it as well. Then Sunday was the usual starting with church. Then Uncle Tim and his gf Ashley (pronounced by G as Actually) came over and helped entertain G until naptime. She is obsessed with them, can you tell?

Uncle Tim and Ashley reading before her nap.
BTW Tim, if you are reading this, Ashley is awesome, do whatever you can to keep her! So then Uncles Matt and Patrick came over and all 3 boys helped Chris rake the front yard and put up lights. The front looks great! Meanwhile G and I decorated the Christmas tree with our ornaments. This is what it looks like.
Just kidding, I wish. Maybe when my kids are older and I have gobs of money.

Right now I am plenty happy with what we have- multicolored lights with homemade and mismatched ornaments. Its funny the many memories I have of different ornaments from my own childhood. There were certain ones that were the favorites, that we would fight over. One such ornament was one that as kids we sent in 2 proofs of purchase plus S & H from a box of cereal called Sugar Puffs. Anyone out there remember Sugar Bear? The ornament was a stuffed Sugar Bear with a santa hat and if you squeezed it it played Christmas music- I'm sure it drove my mom crazy. The ornament, probably at least 15 years old by now, still makes music and is still a favorite of our family :). I think Gianna already has a favorite of her own- one that Grandma Rowles gave Chris 2 years ago that, of course, makes noise. Chris' mom has a WONDERFUL tradition- she gives each of her children an ornament as a Christmas present each year. She would write the name of each kid and the year she gave it to them on the back of the ornament. So the Christmas after Chris and I were married, we actually had ornaments to put on our first, tiny tree. And its really fun to see the ornaments he has recieved through the years. We continued the tradition here at the Rowles house, so no matter what our decorations will never match! Here are some more of the girls and their boys! Thanks for coming over to play!

PS. Two cute things about the girls- Gianna loves to play with our nativity scene, and today she was showing the Baby Jesus to her uncles. "Isn't he a cute little baby?" and "Baby Jesus is Elia's little brother" were just 2 of the many cute things she has said about Jesus!
Elia cut another tooth sometime today! Her upper right tooth is just below the surface of her gums, and still not wanting to eat baby food!
