Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch is good for ONLY one thing: pictures.  The morning consisted of taking cute pictures and fighting crowds, long lines, a collapsing bounce house, and don't forget a very overpriced pumpkin.  I told Chris we will never go there ever again.  He thinks we just need to get there earlier instead of 11 am when literally half of the metroplex is there.

We found a very beautiful pumpkin, and it was so heavy that daddy needed help picking it up.

Afterwards, we went on a hay ride and then home.  I'm glad the girls had fun!

Last Weekend of November

My blogging has been off lately. It is the busiest time of the year after all! The last weekend of November was spent raking leaves and working on the room.

Elia loves to 'help.'

Love this picture of Chris putting lotion on the girl's faces. Cold air=chapped skin. My poor girls inherited my sensitive skin.

Leaves

I ditched the gym and the housework this morning to veg with the girls. After a bit of tv, we took a walk, which ended in the backyard. I decided to rake a few piles of leaves for the girls to play in. They had a blast. You could say I still got am arm workout.

My little helper.

Action shots.

Sister love.

Tired and thirsty after the morning!

Weekend and Room update

Its starting to get cool here in Dallas, finally. That doesn't mean we have turned our heat on yet, oh no! We are trying to make it to December 1. Not sure if that is going to happen!Friday afternoon started out with a trip to Lumber Liquidators. Try to get a 3 or 4 year old to say Lumber Liquidators, its hilarious! They were having a sale and so we totally scored and got enough gorgeous dark chocolate brown engineered hard wood on sale to do our bedroom floor.
So Saturday was spent cleaning out the room. It is so dusty in there from the popcorn ceiling. We moved out the furniture, and then Sunday Chris sprayed texture on the ceiling. We are set to paint the ceiling and walls and then lay floors. Hoping it is all done by the end of the Thanksgiving weekend.
Saturday we said goodbye to Koda with a long walk and lots of hugs. We already miss her. Chris and I are entertaining getting a dog for the girl's birthdays. By entertaining, I mean Chris wants to really bad and I want to put it off as long as possible. But the whole dog-sitting experience was good for me. I am not scared of getting one anymore. Having a dog around is like I said, not that bad!
Here are some pics from the weekend.

Saturday. Writing in their
fave- journals.

We went on lots of walks.

And collected TONS of acorns.

Gianna painted hers black because that is the color of dirt. Duh. I tried to get crafty too!

Ridiculous

Our neighborhood is crazy about Halloween. The girls love to walk around our block and look at any Halloween decorations up. This house is particularly ridiculous:

You can't really tell from the pics, but they put clotheslines up everywhere and then hung up dozens of bats and spiders. There is a whole graveyard, its just too much!

So we spent 2 hours at the park today and the girls were playing nicely together, so I snapped a few. I love that we finally have bearable weather!!

It was sooooo windy!

Columbus Day

Reason #87695 Chris' new company is great- he gets Columbus Day off! So we went to a pumpkin patch. Well actually we went to the Farmers Market in Carrollton. It was perfect. We didn't want to haul over to Flower Mound so we just popped over to this place since we had seen a "get your pumpkins here" sign driving past it the other day. We were the only people there, so we got some great photos. The girls had fun in the hay-maze and walking on the pumpkins.
Chris' aunt and uncle were in town for their 20th UD alumni reunion, so we were able to visit with them at Aunt Deanna's parents house. Then we were home for nap and we spent the rest of the day outside playing. Good day.

The Wicked Witches

I just love October. Halloween is coming, and the weather is just amazing here in Dallas. Gianna wants to be a witch like she was last year.

How cute is this picture? G looks so young and E look so little! I remember she was just learning to sit up when this pic was taken. I (think) was right behind her in case she might have fallen off the table.

Mary made this costume for Gianna last year. I had her try it on again earlier this week and it still fits her! Which just sort of tells you that she hasn't really grown that much. She is still wearing 2t clothing. In fact, I found Halloween themed baby shirts at the dollar spot at Target and she fits the 6-12 shirt! Granted, its a bit short, but now Elia and Gianna have matching Halloween shirts and I only spent $2. thats a pretty cool deal.

We have been spending a lot of time at hardware stores lately (for obvious reasons). At Lowes, they have their Halloween displays at the front entrance. There is this witch that is life-size and if you touch her, she talks and her eyes light up and she moves her head around. The girls are FASCINATED. After we did it a few times today, Elia started to get a little nervous. I have to pretty much drag G away though, she just wants to keep touching and watching. Here are their reactions; stock still and in awe:

Ready for Fall!

Long sleeve shirts and jeans, here we come. I took this today right before preschool. Sharing an apple is the perfect way to bring on fall!
